The centre of La Cour du verger, specifically around its medieval granite staircase, dates to the 12th century. The rest dates from the 16th century onwards.

Legend has it that the manoir once housed the nuns of the Roussac church, then later, it became home to a famous apothecaire. It is said that people travelled from all over France for his cures.

These days, La Cour du Verger has its own particular type of cure for modern day maladies and worries.

Rooms Tariffs Bookings

History is evident in every turn of the corner; every cornerstone, flagstone
and granite step at La Cour.

With its mild climate and vigourous growing season, the Haute-Vienne provides a wonderful spring and summer experience for walking or just sitting.

Dining at La Cour du Verger

Our hospitality philosophy is simple - we provide the best possible food, accomodation, environment, attention and experience that we can, so that you can unwind, recharge and leave the outside world behind.

Healthy, delicious food and great French wine are at the heart of our dining experience.   We grow organic herbs and vegetables, which form the basis of our meals and by the use of our polytunnel, we extend the growing season to bring you a garden-to-table experience.

Our Food Table D'Hote

Why not join us in our kitchen for a conversation about the field-to-table experience or for a course in bread making?

We always extend a very warm welcome.
At your request, we can arrange refreshments in your room to greet you upon arrival.

Explore Our Meadows, Woods and Fields

The manoir is set within its own grounds of 32 acres, all of which are available for the use of our guests.

Sitting at 1,000ft above sea level, our grounds encompass rolling hills, parkland, gardens, woodland, meadow, fields and our own private lake, which is a short wander from the manoir.

Kitchen Gardens Our Lake

The grounds lead into one of the largest natural forests in Europe. There are many walks and peaceful places to sit within the grounds.
